[3] An Ordinary Subject, Made Extraordinary
I never know what to write. It's so weird, because I think to myself "I'm going to write an entry today", and I sit here for about twenty minutes thinking of a topic, anything, and nothing comes to mind. It really bothers me that my life isn't exciting enough to write about. Well, I could write about it, but I don't want to upset anybody with such a boring entry. So I'll try and improvise by making a boring day sound exciting. Here's what I would say normally:
I was sitting in my desk at summer school, and it just so happens that this really hot guy sits next to me. He looked over at me and said, "I'm so tired." Oh, God, he was gorgeous. I didn't really know if I should say anything back, but those stupid words came out of my mouth anyway. "So am I," I said.
He turned back to his paper and I sighed. He was so hot.
See that? Pitiful. Everybody writes like that. Maybe I can make it a little more interesting...
A fifteen-year-old girl, sitting in a desk, glancing furtively at the boy beside her, wondering whether or not to speak. Her heart is racing, her insides churning with anticipation. What was he thinking? What could possibly be swimming in the mind of such a person?
The girl starts as the boy turns to her. The boy says, "I'm so tired."
Oh! The girl thinks to herself, if only I could be those words! If only I could be so close to his soft lips! What should I say? Should I just say nothing?
The girl decides. She replies, "So am I." The boy bedazzles her with a smile and turns back to his paper, leaving the girl with butterflies fluttering in her stomach, her body heavy like lead.
I hope that got you excited.
